Conference Overview
Presented by Tri-Faith Initiative and the University of Nebraska at Omaha’s Department of Religious Studies, the fourth annual 2025 Race, Religion, and Social Justice Conference invites you to explore how food shapes our lives, identities, and
movements for justice.
From the kitchen table to the community garden, food is more than sustenance—it’s a powerful force for storytelling, resistance, and belonging. This year’s theme, Fueling the Work, dives into the intersections of race, religion, and food to examine how faith communities and justice advocates use food as a tool for cultural preservation, community healing, and social transformation.
Join us for an inspiring day of learning, connection, and action. The conference will feature keynote speakers, panel discussions, hands-on workshops, and meaningful dialogue with thought leaders, activists, chefs, faith leaders, and scholars. Breakfast will be catered by Chef Jamil D Bah-Traore of House of Bah, and lunch by Chef Anthony Warrior—offering nourishment that reflects the spirit of the day.
Whether you are a justice seeker, spiritual leader, corporate influencer, educator, or community member, this gathering will feed your spirit and deepen your understanding
of how we can build a more equitable and inclusive world—one meal, one movement at a time.
Early bird registration is now open—just $79 for a full day of programming, including catered breakfast and lunch.
Come hungry for change. Leave nourished to lead.
