The Commons
The Tri-Faith Commons is the only place of its kind in the world.
It brings together in permanent residence a synagogue, church, mosque, and interfaith center on 38-acres in the American heartland of Omaha, Nebraska. The Commons is connected by Abraham’s Bridge and a shared Tri-Faith Garden and Orchard.
This bold endeavor is a national model and serves as a center for learning and interfaith collaboration for people in Omaha and across the nation.
The congregation was founded in 1871 and nearly 700 families are members today.
The church was founded in Omaha in 1949 and is a part of the United Church of Christ, which is known as the oldest denomination in the United States.
Founded in Omaha in 2006, AMI is a local, non-denominational, autonomous nonprofit organization.
The Tri-Faith Center serves as a community space where congregants and the broader community, as well as visitors from across the country, convene and connect.
The iconic Abraham’s Circle Bridge connects the four buildings and is an inspirational focal point on the Commons.
To honor the strong relationship between each of the three faiths and the role that harvest and bounty play in the ceremonial and celebratory aspects of faith.
