Light a Virtual Chanukiah (Chanukah Menorah)

The URJ has also developed a Virtual Menorah that you can light each night of Chanukah.  Click on the number of the Day — tonight on Dec. 1 will be Day One.  A screen will pop up with the blessings for that day and you will hear them sung in Hebrew, but there is also a transliteration and a translation so you can follow along.

Click here to see, hear and light the virtual Chanukiah.

Once you close the blessings, you use a virtual match to light the Shamash — the helper candle used to light all the other candles in the Chanukiah (the special menorah for Chanukah)  — and then use the Shamash to light the proper number of candles for that night.

If you would rather have a real Chanukiah for your home, there are a wide variety in the Temple Israel gift shop.  Please call Temple Israel, (7023 Cass St.) at 556-6536 to check the hours when the gift shop will be open.
